Ethnic minority pupils
School staff should set the example to pupils by abiding by equal opportunities principles and by firmly encouraging respect for all in the school. The school ethos should reflect this to ensure that every pupil and member of staff feels equally valued and safe. The ethnic minority achievement site carries information on how the Government is working to support EAL pupils, provides documentation for ethnic background data collection and offers examples of good practice in schools and LEAs.
