Internet safety
Before allowing children to access the Internet, even in the safety of the school environment, you must ensure that all the safety precautions needed have been put in place, in order to prevent children from having access to inappropriate sites. It's even more important to educate them not to respond to messages and hoaxes and to observe basic rules such as never giving out their home address. The parents' area of Directgov has an assessment of the risks and safety issues involved. Follow the link to Parents Online from the Directgov Internet safety page.
